Renew Program: Why Catholic
Six Gatherings - Beginning the week of February 7
Queen of Peace Parish is beginning a new program called “Why Catholic.” This program is conducted in small groups of about eight people. The program will be held for six weeks during Lent and again in the Fall. The sessions will be based on the Scriptures and the teachings of the Catholic Faith. The theme for this year is, “The Profession of Faith: What we Believe.” Sign up for this program will be the weekend of January 9 and 10 or January 23 and 24.
The Why Catholic? Series was developed by Renew International to provide a faith-sharing process for small communities. Queen of Peace Parish used the Renew 2000 program about then years ago. By using the renew materials, it is hoped that participants will develop a greater knowledge of our faith and develop a deeper relationship with God. The small communities foster sharing and many new relationships are possible. It is hoped that the process will also enable participants to discover and embrace their own faith story and allow them to reflect on, and answer, the questions, "What does it mean to be Catholic? How did I become Catholic? Why do I remain Catholic?
Why Catholic? is also designed to balance prayer, sharing on Scripture, and reflection on the teachings of our faith, providing a full and fruitful faith-sharing experience. For more information, please contact Sr. Beatrice at 332-6279 ex.t 17.
We will have groups available during school time.
